On December 5th, in Mahón, Menorca, at the headquarters of the Official College of Architects of the Balearic Islands, Enrique Bardají gave a conference on the Catalogue of Historic-Artistic Protection of Buildings in the Historic Centre of Madrid.
One of the central points of his presentation was the impact of the catalogue on the revitalization of the centre of Madrid, ensuring that the protection criteria are consistent with the evolution of urban needs. Specific cases of emblematic buildings were also mentioned, analyzing the technical and administrative challenges involved in their preservation.
Enrique Bardají highlighted citizen participation and interdisciplinary collaboration as key factors for the success of the catalogue and provided a reflection on how urban planning tools and new technologies, such as geographic information systems, can improve the management of historical heritage in the future.
