We have completed the new courthouse in Almendralejo (Badajoz). This building has been designed with the criteria of: adaptation to the environment; recognition of the important role of public buildings on the urban scene; energy efficiency; and strictly meeting functional needs. The project report points out: “We want to make a building adapted to the established budgets, combining the desired restraint in terms of form with the representativeness required by a seat of justice. We believe in simple architecture leading us from creative balance to commitment to excellence.” The result, in the form of the new Almendralejo courthouse, is a building that attracts attention in the city. It avoids being garish but has a strong design that we hope comes close to elegance.
